Park Overview
Six Flags Great Adventure sits in Jackson Township, New Jersey, between Philadelphia and New York City. The park says it is home to 14 coasters plus family rides, live entertainment, and seasonal events. The headliners include El Toro, Nitro, SUPERMAN: Ultimate Flight, BATMAN The Ride, Medusa, THE JOKER, and Jersey Devil Coaster. Kingda Ka is gone; the park has said a new record-breaking launch coaster is coming to its former site, and it is not open yet. New for 2026, the Shoreline Pier area added Barrels O' Fun, a spinning family coaster.
For an accessible day, the park publishes more than most: a Quiet Room at Ranger Station, named transfer devices, test seats at eight rides, and a long list of rides where a supplemental harness may help guests with amputations. The catches are that almost every ride still needs a transfer, staff cannot lift, the prosthesis rules exclude most of the big coasters, and the program's wait and party rules are explained in person rather than online.
Location: 1 Six Flags Blvd, Jackson Township, NJ 08527
Next door: Hurricane Harbor New Jersey (separate admission) and the Wild Safari.
Seasonal events: Fright Fest in the fall, with fog, low light, and strobe effects, and Holiday in the Park.
Hours: Seasonal and vary by date. Confirm on the park's official calendar and hours page before your visit.
Tickets & Passes
Day Tickets and Season Passes
The park sells daily tickets, season passes, memberships, and group tickets online. Children 2 and under are free. The park's pages do not list an accessibility-specific ticket. Its FAQ says guests with disabilities who need a Personal Care Attendant to enjoy equal access may ask Guest Relations to waive the attendant's admission after buying their own tickets.
Fast Lane (Not an Accessibility Product)
Fast Lane is the park's paid line product. You do not need it to use the Attraction Accessibility Program, and the program is not a substitute for it. The park says the program does not provide immediate boarding.
The Wild Safari
The Safari Off-Road Adventure tour is included with a theme park ticket when you board at Frontier Station inside the park. Boarding at Safari Base Camp at the Wild Safari entrance requires a Wild Safari ticket and its own parking fee.
Accessibility: The Attraction Accessibility Program
Six Flags Great Adventure's accommodation for guests with mobility restrictions or cognitive impairments is the Attraction Accessibility Program. The park encourages guests to register for the free IBCCES Accessibility Card at AccessibilityCard.org before the visit, at least 48 hours ahead per IBCCES, and to present it on arrival. The current guide sends you to the Ride Information Center, which the FAQ places at the front entrance before security screening.
The park states the program "does not provide immediate boarding on to attractions," and it does not publish return-time mechanics or a party size limit.
Full Accessibility Guide: the IBCCES Card, Harnesses, Quiet Room & Ride Rules →The short version: register with IBCCES before you leave home, stop at the Ride Information Center first, ask for the list of rides you can safely ride, and bring someone who can help with every transfer.
Wheelchair & ECV Rental
Wheelchairs, ECVs, and strollers rent on Main Street next to Guest Relations, just after the Main Gate, in limited supply. The FAQ lists wheelchairs at $25 and ECVs at $55, with ECV renters 18 or older. The rentals page also sells a manual and an electric wheelchair online, plus a processing fee of up to $9.99 and taxes. Rentals stay inside the park gates.
Parking
- Accessible parking, with auto and van spaces, is first come, first served in the main lots. Ask the team member at the toll booth where to go.
- If the accessible area is full, drop your party at the main pick-up and drop-off area near the main entrance.
- The park is cashless. Parking toll booths take credit and debit cards and mobile pay.
What to Bring
A Great Adventure day covers a lot of ground, and four of the big rides do not allow loose items in line at all.
🎒 Essential Gear, Shop on Amazon
- Portable charger: your IBCCES card is digital, the park is cashless, and your phone carries both all day.
- Noise-canceling headphones: the guide says sensory headphones may be accommodated on select rides, and Fright Fest is loud.
- An athletic glasses strap: on THE FLASH: Vertical Velocity, Jersey Devil Coaster, THE JOKER, and El Toro, glasses must be secured with one or they cannot be worn.
- A small soft cooler if anyone has medical dietary needs. The park allows small coolers for that; check in at Guest Services.
