Park Overview
Six Flags St. Louis sits in Eureka, Missouri, about 30 miles west of downtown St. Louis just off Interstate 44. The park opened in 1971 and is built around its roller coasters, from 1976's wooden Screamin' Eagle to the 218-foot launch of Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast. Admission also includes Hurricane Harbor, the park's water park, which is a useful option on a hot Missouri afternoon. The park runs a seasonal calendar, busy through the summer and into fall, so confirm operating days for your date.
Location: 4900 Six Flags Road, Eureka, MO 63025
Includes: the theme park plus Hurricane Harbor water park
Best time to visit: Weekdays in early summer or in September, when crowds and heat are lower. Summer weekends are the busiest and hottest. Arrive at opening for the shortest waits.
Hours: Seasonal and vary by date. Always confirm at sixflags.com/stlouis before your visit.
Tickets & Pricing
Day Tickets and Passes
Single-day tickets are cheapest bought online in advance, often well below the gate price, and Six Flags runs frequent promotions. If you plan more than one or two visits a year, a Season Pass or Membership usually pays for itself quickly and adds parking and other perks. Buy and compare options at sixflags.com/stlouis rather than at the gate.
THE FLASH Pass (Not an Accessibility Pass)
THE FLASH Pass is the park's paid line-skip product, sold in tiers that cut your wait by different amounts. It is not a disability accommodation and is unrelated to the Attraction Access Pass. Families using the Access Pass do not need THE FLASH Pass, though some buy it for the busiest one or two coasters on a peak day.
Accessibility: Attraction Access Pass
The park's accommodation for guests who cannot wait in a conventional queue is the Attraction Access Pass. The key thing to know is that it now requires a free IBCCES Individual Accessibility Card, which you register for ahead of time with documentation including a doctor's note. This is more advance work than it used to be, so read our full guide before you go.
Full Accessibility Guide: Attraction Access Pass, the IBCCES Card & What to Expect →The short version: register for the IBCCES card at AccessibilityCard.org ahead of your visit, then present it at the Ride Information Center inside the park to set up the Access Pass. At each ride you get a return time equal to the current wait, and the cardholder plus up to three companions enter through the alternate entrance. Six Flags is also an IBCCES Certified Autism Center.
Wheelchair & ECV Rental
Wheelchairs and ECVs are rented inside the main entrance, first-come and first-served. Prices change, so confirm current rates at the park; expect a daily fee plus a refundable deposit. ECVs are limited and sell out on busy days, so arrive early. Because most coasters require a transfer from your device into the ride vehicle, plan for where you will park the device at each ride; team members can direct you to the accessible boarding area.
Parking
- The park has a large on-site lot with paid daily parking, and accessible spaces near the front. A valid disabled parking placard is required for accessible spaces.
- Season Pass and Membership tiers can include parking, which is worth it across multiple visits.
- The lot is a flat, paved walk to the entrance, manageable for most mobility devices.
What to Bring
Six Flags St. Louis is a full outdoor day in the Missouri summer heat. A few essentials make a real difference.
🎒 Essential Gear, Shop on Amazon
- Portable charger: the Six Flags app, mobile tickets, and wait times all run on your phone. Keep it charged.
- Noise-canceling headphones: the coaster areas and midway audio are loud, which matters for sensory-sensitive guests.
- Cooling towel and water: Missouri summer heat is serious. Refill stations are around the park, and Hurricane Harbor is a cool-down option.
- Swimsuit: if you plan to use Hurricane Harbor, bring it; admission is included.
- Sunscreen: you will be outdoors most of the day with limited shade in the coaster plazas.
