Before You Arrive: Three Things to Do
- Buy tickets online in advance and load them on your phone. Gate prices run higher.
- Reserve a wheelchair or ECV online through the park's upgrades page if you need one. Rentals are subject to availability and ECVs go first on busy days.
- If you need an ASL interpreter, email [email protected] or call 407-545-5550 at least 14 days out. Response time runs up to seven days.
Best Time to Visit
Weekdays outside school holidays are the clear winner. Central Florida heat peaks in the early afternoon and thunderstorms are common from late spring through summer, which regularly shuts the coasters for lightning holds. That risk is the practical argument for riding the big five early and saving indoor habitats for the afternoon.
Hour-by-Hour: One-Day Plan With the RAP
At Opening: Guest Services First
Go straight to Guest Services just inside the entrance and enroll in the Ride Accessibility Program. Ask them to mark the Sesame Street Land quiet room and the nearest first aid on your map. If restraint fit is a question for anyone in your party, walk to a test seat at Mako, Manta, Kraken, or Ice Breaker before you build the rest of the day around a ride you may not fit.
First Hour: Take the Standby Line While It Is Short
Early waits are genuinely short, often shorter than the return time you would be given later. Use that window on your top coaster if the physical queue is workable for your party, and save the virtual queue for when posted waits climb. This is the single biggest lever on a RAP day.
Late Morning: Start the One-At-A-Time Rotation
Once posted waits pass about 30 minutes, switch to the return-time pattern. Request a boarding time at one big coaster, then spend that window on something that needs no wait: the Shark Encounter tunnel, Manta Aquarium, Dolphin Cove, or the Rescue Center. You cannot hold two return times, so pair every booked ride with a walk-through exhibit in the same part of the park.
Midday: Heat Break Indoors
Aquariums and stadium presentations are your air-conditioned or shaded reset, and they carry no height requirement and no transfer. Presentations are not covered by Special Access, so arrive early enough for accessible seating. This is also the natural window for the quiet room in Sesame Street Land.
Afternoon: Family Rides and the Water Rides
Sesame Street Land and Penguin Trek work well here, and the Certified Autism Center training is concentrated in that area. Save Journey to Atlantis and Infinity Falls for the hottest part of the day, since being soaked at 4pm is a feature and at 7pm is a problem.
Evening: Re-Rides and the Best Light
Waits fall in the last two hours and the heat breaks. If your party can handle the standby queue by then, drop the virtual queue and just ride. Sky Tower at dusk is a low-effort, high-payoff finish and is the only ride that permits oxygen tanks.
Managing the Access Pass
- The enrolled guest must ride for the party to board through special access, and up to five additional guests may come.
- Special access covers listed rides only. Shows, parades, dining, and shops are not included.
- At smaller attractions you may be asked to wait one or two cycles when the posted wait is ten minutes or more.
- On Kraken, entering through the exit puts you in rows 2 through 7. Front or back row means someone waits in the standard queue.
- Standard wheelchairs do not need the virtual queue at Penguin Trek.
Sensory Planning
The quiet room inside the Childcare Facility in Sesame Street Land has comfortable seating and a vacant or occupied indicator, on a first-come basis. The park also recommends the space between Dolphin Cove and the SeaWorld Rescue Center as a lower-stimulation area. Bring noise-canceling headphones for the stadiums and the coaster plazas, and treat the midday aquarium stretch as a planned decompression rather than a fallback.
