Planning Guide

Legoland California One-Day Plan

Built around one stop at Guest Services, a first ride chosen on purpose, and a midday reset in the Sensory Room.

⚠️ Hours, seasons, and policies change. Confirm the operating calendar and current accessibility requirements on the park's official accessibility page before your visit. Last verified September 2026.

Before You Arrive: Five Things to Do

  1. Read the Access Guide and the Sensory Guide. The Access Guide lists every ride's access point and height rules, and the Sensory Guide rates each ride against the five senses. Mark the rides that are out and the ones worth trying.
  2. Email ahead for hearing or vision accommodations. The help center asks for three weeks' notice through Guest Services, and [email protected] takes questions.
  3. Sort out the caregiver ticket. If a non-parent caregiver is coming, bring documentation in case it is requested. The ticket is issued only at Guest Services on the day, and parents are not eligible.
  4. Bring your own mobility device if you can. Rentals are first come, first served with no reservations: $25 for a wheelchair and $65 for an ECV, per the help center.
  5. Pre-book Preferred parking. Disabled parking spaces are in the Preferred lot, and you can pre-book parking online or in the app.

Best Time to Visit

Weekdays during the school year are the easy call at a park built for young kids, since the Assisted Access Pass gives ride times comparable to the standby wait rather than skipping it. Shorter lines mean shorter return times. Coastal Carlsbad is mild most of the year, but summer sun and the water rides still call for shade, sunscreen, and a change of clothes.

Hour by Hour: One Day With the Pass

On Arrival: Parking

The parking toll typically opens 45 minutes before the Resort opens. Follow the signs for Preferred parking, on the left, where the disabled spaces are.

First Stop: Guest Services in The Beginning

Go here before anything else. Discuss your needs and get the Assisted Access Pass. While you are there:

  • Buy the Caregiver Ticket if it applies.
  • Get a stroller-as-wheelchair tag if your child needs to stay in a stroller in lines and venues.
  • Ask which service animal rule applies on rides, since the park's two official sources differ.
  • Ask where First Aid is if you are carrying medication that needs refrigeration.

If you need a rental, Minifigure Market is in the same land.

First Ride: Choose It Carefully

Your first ride boards as soon as possible and hands you a time for the next one. That makes the first ride your one near-immediate boarding of the day, so spend it on the ride your child cares about most, or the one with the longest standby. LEGO Galaxy's Galacticoaster and THE LEGO MOVIE World's Emmet's Flying Adventure both use the ride entrance for accessible boarding.

Morning: Work the Return Times

Each ride gives you a time for the next, and the next can be any ride. Use the gap for rides with short lines, a snack, or MINILAND USA. Keep your party to 6, keep the pass holder with you at every redemption, and expect to be split across vehicles now and then.

Midday: The Sensory Room and the Sensory Hour

The Sensory Room is inside the DUPLO Family Care Center in Fun Town, about a 10 minute walk from the entrance, and it is open any time during your visit. The Sensory Sensitivity Hour runs at LEGO Ferrari Build & Race from 1pm to 2pm daily, which makes early afternoon the natural reset.

Afternoon: Smaller Rides or the Water Park

For small riders, Driving School, Junior Driving School, Skipper School, and The Royal Joust are age and height rides that list the exit as the access point. If you move to the Water Park, remember the Assisted Access Pass does not cover it. Life jackets are free, and swim diapers are required for guests three and under.

Evening: Shows

The pass does not apply at shows. Indoor show venues reserve seating for guests in wheelchairs, so ask a host. Some shows use loud music, lasers, smoke, or strobe effects.

Managing the Pass

Screenshot the steps. The park publishes the return-time steps on its accessibility page. Save them on your phone so everyone in the party follows the same rules.
  • Every requirement still applies. Heights, ages, and the prosthesis rules are checked at every ride.
  • Staff will not transfer you. Someone in your party has to help with every transfer.
  • Calm before the ride starts. A rider who is fidgeting or crying must settle and tell the operator they want to ride before the ride begins.
  • Plan for evacuations. Riders may need to use stairs, narrow walkways, or ladders, with help from their own party.
